As a Doctor of Chiropractic,
the health and well-being of my patients is of paramount importance. Health
is not merely the absence of symptoms. It is the absence of disease and
imbalance. It occurs when all of the systems of the body are functioning
properly. To restore true health it is neccessary to determine the underlying
cause of a condition. The treatment of many of these conditions can be
addressed by restoring normal mechanical function.
In my practice, I help restore proper spinal biomechanics
and improve nervous system function. I begin with a thorough case history,
which provides me with your health background. This will include
past health problems, previous surgeries, accidents, the onset of your
condition, and other details affecting your current health.
After reviewing your health history and discussing your
specific problem, a thorough physical examination will be conducted. This
will include orthopedic, neurological, and biomechanical testing.
X-rays or other diagnostic proceedures will be performed if deemed necessary
to uncover the underlying cause of your condition. These examinations
will help identify areas of spinal malfunction and resulting nervous system
deficit. They will also help identify other disease processes that might
be responsible for your symptoms. If your problem is found to be due to
a more ominous disease process, the appropriate referrals will be made.
The findings from these examinations will be explained in
detail and any questions you might have will be answered. The recommended
course of treatment will then be discussed. Progress will be closely
monitored and if it is decided that your condition is in need of further
attention, the appropriate referral will be made.
Chiropractic
(def.): A system of healthcare based on
the premise that the relationship between structure and function in the
human body is a significant health factor and that such relationships
between the spinal column and the nervous system are significant, since
the normal transmission and expression of nerve energy are essential to
the restoration and maintenance of health. (Taber's Med. Dictionary)
